Learn more about travel requirements and COVID-19 on the Vietnam Info for Travelers on COVID-19 web page.

Arrangements can be made for COVID-19 PCR tests to be administered in Quy Nhon. There is also a hospital in the city to provide care if needed. Please contact Jenny Ramarui for more information.

Visa Requirements

Many countries are exempt from Vietnam visa requirements and allow for a stay of between 14 and 30 days; this website provides details. If you are required to obtain a visa, you may be able to apply for an e-visa online, but please keep two things in mind: (1) request a “tourist” visa, (2) allow for more than three business days for processing. The cost is $25 USD; apply here.

Medical/Travel Insurance

Medical or travel insurance that covers COVID-19 treatment with a minimum liability of $10,000 USD  is required and can be purchased for about $35–$40 USD. The Insure my Trip website provides quotes from up to 20 providers. Insurance policies are purchased online and links to certificates of coverage and ID cards are provided after the policy is purchased. Information on Covid protocols in place for the conference will be provided by the end of July.

Getting to Quy Nhon

Flights from some parts of the world arrive directly in Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) or Hanoi (HAN), however, travelers from North and South America may need to transit through Seoul Korea (ICN), Japan, or another nearby country. Usually, if you are just connecting to your next flight, a visa is not required. However, please check the visa and testing requirements for any airports you may be transitting through.

If flights arrive late in the day at SGN or HAN, it may be necessary to stay overnight at a nearby hotel and then take the relatively short flight to Quy Nhon (UIH) the next day. Links to nearby hotels are provided below:
